Harry Potter cast: Where Are They Now?

Greetings, my fellow Potterheads! Today I made a list of what these talented people have been doing since the Harry Potter movies wrapped up 10 years ago. Now, I just want to flat-out say this, I do not condone J.K. Rowling's transphobia. My love for Harry Potter is very complicated and I have been wanting to make this list for quite sometime but I've always feared the backlash of my undying love for this franchise. I will say this, Fantastic Beasts sucks! I just wish J.K. can just let the world that she created alone, she doesn't get to have that anymore. Anyway, here's what the Hogwarts alumni have been up to.

48. Warwick Davis

Warwick Davis is a great character actor, having appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and played the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi and is best known as the Leprechaun and is mostly for Ron Howard's Willow. After playing Professor Flitwick, he appeared in an episode of Doctor Who, appeared in two more Star Wars movies, The Force Awakens and Solo: A Star Wars Story. He is set to reprise his role as Willow Ufgood in the Willow Disney+ show that's set to come out in 2022.

47. Jim Broadbent

Jim Broadbent has done stage work and has had supporting roles including Moulin Rouge and Iris, the latter earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. He then played Horace Slughorn, a former Potions Master from Hogwarts who appeared in Half-Blood Prince. Since playing Slughorn, he appeared in The Lady in the Van, the Paddington movies and Season 7 of Game of Thrones. He also wrote a graphic novel called Dull Margaret which was published in 2018 and appeared in the FX miniseries Black Narcissus.

46. Miranda Richardson

Miranda Richardson first appeared in Goblet of Fire as Rita Skeeter, a writer for the Daily Prophet. Before that, she has received BAFTA and Oscar nominations for her roles in "Damage" and "Tom & Viv" and several Golden Globe nominations for Enchanted April and Fatherland. She also had television roles in Blackadder and Merlin. In 2000, she gained wider recognition for voicing Mrs. Tweedy in Chicken Run. Since 2005, she appeared in Fred Claus, The Young Victoria, Made in Dagenham, Testament of Youth and Stronger. She returned as Rita in a cameo role in Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Richardson is set to be in a Netflix animated film called The Magician's Elephant. Besides her acting career, she's into falconry.

45. Ian Hart

Ian Hart appeared in the Sorcerer's Stone as Professor Quirrell, who many people know that he was the vessel for Lord Voldemort. Before that, he played Joe O'Reilly in "Michael Collins". After playing Quirrell, he appeared as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in "Finding Neverland" and has appeared in a bunch of shorts, stage productions, TV movies and had minor appearances in TV Shows like Agents of SHIELD as Franklin Hall, The Bridge, Boardwalk Empire, The Last Kingdom, played Hans Christian Andersen in Urban Myths and he recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series The Mosquito Coast. Quirrell has done pretty well for himself since. 

44. Chris Rankin

Kiwi-English actor Chris Rankin was best known as the Gryffindor prefect, Percy Weasley. Since playing Percy, he hasn't done much outside of Harry Potter. He became an Assistant Production Coordinator for the FX series The Bastards Executioner and has appeared in a couple of mini-series, "The Rotters' Club" and "Victoria's Cross Heroes". He had roles in theater like Edgar Linton in Wuthering Heights. In 2011, he completed his study at the University of London.

43. Afshan Azad

Afshan Azid was best known for playing Padma Patil in Goblet of Fire. Since Deathly Hallows: Part 2, she hasn't been doing any more acting roles since. She instead focused on finishing school and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Salford. She then got married in August 2018 and she's expecting her first child. Although she now has moved on from Harry Potter, she got into an Assault case in 2010. When she was 22, her father and brother attacked her because of her relationship with someone with Hindu descent. Ashraf Azad was charged with assault and was sentenced for 6 months.

42. Luke Youngblood

Luke Youngblood appeared as Lee Jordan in Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets. Since 2002, he had a main role in "The Story of Tracy Beaker", was a contestant on Project Catwalk, had another main role in Galavant and had a guest role in Superior Donuts. His well-known post-Harry Potter role is Magnitude in Community. 

41. Jessie Cave

Lavender Brown was first played by Jennifer Smith in a non-speaking role in Prisoner of Azkaban, she re-appeared in Half-Blood Prince, this time played by Jessie Cave. After Harry Potter, she appeared in plays and published a book of her trademark cartoons called Love Sick, with some appearing on greeting cards. She then starred in a play called Sunrise, which was a semi-autobiographical portrayal of her life and relationships and has made her own clothing line, Cave Pants. Jessie also does stand-up comedy in Soho, London. Besides her well-established career, Jessie got married with Alfie Brown and have three children and are now split-up. Jessie and her sister, Bebe have since started a podcast called "We Can Talk About Right Now", which was inspired by the unfortunate death of their brother. Jessie Cave has also opened up about her experience with rape as a teenager.

40. Natalia Tena

Natalia Tena's well-known for her role as Nymphadora Tonks in Order of the Phoenix. After Deathly Hallows: Part 2, she had a recurring role in another major property, Game of Thrones as Osha. When she's not acting, she's part of a band called Molotov Jukebox and is the lead singer and accordionist. Natalia has since appeared in Music Videos, a stage production of Othello as Desdemona and had a role in the Black Mirror episode "White Christmas". She then had lead roles in Residue, The Refugees and Wisdom of the Crowd. Her big post-Harry Potter/Game of Thrones role was Xi'an in The Mandalorian.

39. Scarlett Byrne

Scarlett Byrne was best known as Slytherin student Pansy Parkinson in the Half-Blood Prince. since Deathly Hallows: Part 2, she appeared in Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries as Nora Hildegard, appeared on Dancing with the Stars and had a recurring role as Bronwyn in the Marvel/Hulu series Runaways. In 2019, she married Cooper Hefner and now have a child together one year later. 

38. Richard Griffiths

Richard Griffiths played the nasty muggle uncle Vernon Dursely. Before that, he won international acclaim for his performance in the stage play, The History Boys and was nominated for a BAFTA from his film adaptation in 2006. In 1987, he played Uncle Monty in Withnail and I and had supporting roles in Chariots of Fire, Gandhi and The French Lieutenant's Woman. He then appeared in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Hugo. Between 2008 and 2009, he appeared alongside Daniel Radcliffe in a stage revival of Equus. In 2011, he appeared as George II in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. A year later, he starred with Danny DeVito in the Neil Simon revival play, The Sunshine Boys. On March 28th, 2013, Richard Griffiths died from complications from heart surgery. 

37. Evanna Lynch

Evanna Lynch became well-known for her role as Luna Lovegood. She appeared in the remaining 4 films. Evanna has since appeared in G.B.F., she made her stage debut as Bess Houdini in Houdini, starred in the indie drama My Name Is Emily in 2015, and starred in a revival of Disco Pigs in 2017. In 2018, she appeared in Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars and starred in the stage adaptation of The Omission of the Family Coleman a year later. Evanna has also been focusing on her activism and has advocated in veganism and animal rights. She launched her own cosmetics brand called Kinder Beauty Box and has a vegan-themed podcast called "The ChickPeeps". Evanna Lynch has also shared her struggles with her body disorder, anorexia nervosa, and is becoming an inspiration to people with body disorders.

36. Richard Harris

Richard Harris was the OG actor who played Albus Dumbledore in its first movies. Before playing Dumbledore, his earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in This Sporting Life, and played King Arthur in "Camelot" and its stage musical revival in 1981. Other prior appearances included A Man Called Horse, Unforgiven and Gladiator. Chamber of Secrets was his last film role and on October 25th, 2002, he passed away from pneumonia along with complications from Hodgkin's disease. Since then, his legacy has lived on. A statue was commemorated on Kilkee, Ireland and another statue of him was erected in Bedford Row, his hometown. He was also honored with a commemorative stamp for the "Centenary of Irish Cinema". This year, he was listed as number 3 on The Irish Times list of Ireland's greatest film actors.

35. Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Wright gained spread prominence for playing Ginny Weasley in all 8 movies. After the films wrapped up, she appeared in some indie films like "Before I Sleep", "The Sea" and "After the Dark" and made her stage debut in "The Moment of Truth" at the Southwork Playhouse. Bonnie then graduated from the University of the Arts in London with a Bachelor's in filmmaking. Shen then found her own production company, BonBon Lumiere and produced short films. Her first directorial short film was "Separate We Come, Separate We Go" which received a positive reception at the Cannes Film Festival. She then followed it up with "Know Thyself" and "Sextant". She then made a three-part series called Phone Calls which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. When Bonnie Wright's not directing short films, she does environmental activist work by stopping plastic pollution and is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos. 

34. Robbie Coltrane

Robbie Coltrane is well-known for playing Hagrid. Before that, he also played one of James Bond's allies, Valentin Dmitrovich Zhukovsky. In 2006, he was appointed as Officer of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his work in drama. Since 2011, he appeared in "Great Expectations" and "Effie Gray" and had voice roles in "The Tale of Desperaux" and "Brave". He recently played Orson Welles in an episode of Urban Myths.

33. Sean Biggerstaff

Scottish actor Sean Biggerstaff appeared as Oliver Wood in Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets and then he reprised his role in Deathly Hallows: Part 2, albeit in an uncredited cameo. 4 years later, he appeared in "Whiskey Galore!" I do hope that he'll be doing big things sometime soon, because this guy needs more roles.

32. Rupert Grint

Rupert Grint gained popularity for playing Ron Weasley. After Harry Potter was finished, he has been doing well for himself. He had a supporting roles in "Into the White" and "CBGB", and made his stage debut in Mojo in 2013 at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London. In 2017, he starred in the Crackle Original series "Snatch" and he currently stars in the Apple TV+ series "Servant", which is executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan. His well-known post-Harry Potter role appearance, was in Ed Sheeran's "LEGO House" music video.

31. Shirley Henderson

Shirley Henderson played Moaning Myrtle in 4 of its HP movies. Before that, he had a supporting roles in "Trainspotting", the Bridget Jones trilogy and "Topsy-Turvy". She had since appeared in "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day", "Anna Karenina", which starred Keira Knightley, "Filth", "Meek's Cutoff" and Bong Joon-ho's "Okja". Not to mention that she played French princess Aunt Sophie in "Marie Antoinette" directed by Sofia Coppola and played Babu Frik in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Myrtle has done pretty good for herself!

30. Josh Herdman

Josh Herdman became known for playing Gregory Goyle, a student of the Slytherin trio. 7 years after Deathly Hallows- Part 2, he appeared in the critically panned Robin Hood movie and appeared in an episode of Alex Rider. He has now become a mixed martial artist. On April 23rd 2016, he fought Janusz Walachowski with a decisive win. 

29. Devon Murray

Irish Actor Devon Murray is known for playing Seamus Finnegan, a Gryffindor student. Devon has lived a very private life since then and is now in a relationship with Shannon McCaffrey Quinn and they have 6 month old son.

28. James and Oliver Phelps

Twin brothers James and Oliver Phelps are known for playing Weasley twins Fred and George. James made a guest appearance on "King of the Nerds", appeared in the TV film "Danny and the Human Zoo" and are both in the upcoming Edgar Wright film "Last Night in Soho". James and Oliver are supporters of the Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research in Australia.

27. Timothy Spall

Timothy Spall is well-known in the UK, known for his roles in "Secrets & Lies", Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet" and "Nicholas Nickleby". He made his Harry Potter appearance as Peter Pettigrew/Wormtail in Prisoner of Azkaban and has appeared in 4 of its movies since. After appearing in The Last Samurai, he appeared in the live-action Disney musical Enchanted, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The King's Speech, Ginger and Rosa, Denial and The Party. In 2014, he starred as J.M.W. Turner in Mr. Turner. 

26. Zoë Wanamaker

Before playing Madam Hooch in Sorcerer's Stone, she was a well-known stage actress, appearing in "Piaf", "Once in a Lifetime", "Loot" and "Electra" and made a movie appearance in the Oscar Wilde biopic, "Wilde". She has since starred in "My Children and It", "It's a Wonderful Afterlife", and played Paula Strasberg in "My Week with Marilyn". As far as TV appearances go, she has done a bunch. She starred in mostly Agatha Christie projects like "Agatha Christie's Poirot" as Ariadne Oliver, appeared in 2 episodes of Doctor Who, "Mr. Selfridge", had a main role in "Brittania" and played Baghra in the Netflix series "Shadow and Bone".

25. Michael Gambon

Michael Gambon is well-known for being the second Albus Dumbledore and a slightly more edgier version of him. Gambon is also an incredible thespian starring Shakespeare plays like Othello, Hamlet, Coriolanus and Macbeth and has received 13 Olivier awards for his work, a Tony nomination for "Skylight", and 3 awards for A View from a Bridge in 1987. Gambon made his film debut in 1965 in Othello. His other film appearances included The Wings of the Dove, The Insider and Gosford Park. While playing Dumbledore, appeared in The King's Speech, Amazing Grace, two Wes Anderson films, The Life Aquatic of Steve Zissou and Fantastic Mr. Fox. His television appearances included Cranford, Emma, The Casual Vacancy, Little Woman and Churchill's Secret. In 2015, he retired from stage acting due to his issues with memory loss and has been listed as Ireland's greatest actors in The Irish Times five years later. He also voiced Uncle Pastuzo in Paddington and appeared in the Judy Garland biopic, Judy. Gambon has been an established performer!

24. Matthew Lewis

Matthew Lewis is well-known as Neville Longbottom, and is arguably the unsung hero of the series. Let's not forget that he killed the last horcrux, which was a goddamn snake! He then had a recurring role in the BBC series, The Syndicate and made his stage debut in 2012 by appearing in Our Boys at the Duchess Theatre. Matthew then starred in The Rise, which received positive reviews, made appearances in a couple of BBC dramas, Bluestone 42 and Death in Paradise, and had a supporting role in Me Before You, which starred Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. He then appeared on Ripper Street and Happy Valley and starred in the ITV series Girlfriends and a comedy movie from New Zealand called Baby Done. Matthew has since been starring in another TV show called All Creatures Great and Small. Since 2018, he's been married to Angela Jones and Matthew does charity work and founded the Leeds Rugby Foundation and has a podcast with former footballer Jermaine Beckford called "Doing the Leeds".

23. David Bradley

David Bradley is well-known for playing Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts. After the series ended, he gained another memorable role in the form of Walder Frey in Game of Thrones, a Bannerman of House Tully and the man who took part in The Red Wedding, one of the most shocking moments in TV history. Bradley also played Abraham Setrakian in the FX series, The Strain, and voiced Merlin in Guillermo del Toro's Tales of Arcadia franchise. David Bradley is also an accomplished stage performer, winning a Laurence Olivier Award for playing the Fool in King Lear. He also acted a couple of TV shows, Broadchurch and Our Friends in the North. He appeared in an episode of Doctor Who in 2012, and in true pitch-perfect meta-casting, he played the actor who played the First Doctor, William Hartnell in the television movie, An Adventure in Space and Time, he even became The Doctor in an audio series called Doctor Who: The First Doctor Adventures. Bradley then became a spokesperson for Chapel Lane Theatre Company in Stratford-Upon-Avan in UK. He finally played the First Doctor in Season 10 of Doctor Who, becoming the oldest actor to play the iconic character. 

22. Imelda Staunton

Imelda Staunton is recognizable as the actor who played Dolores Umbitch, I mean Umbridge. First appearing in Order of the Phoenix, she represented the Ministry of Magic and ruled Hogwarts with an iron fist. After her appearance in Deathly Hallows- Part 1, she joined two Sony animated/Aardman films, voicing Mrs. Santa in Arthur Christmas and Queen Victoria in The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Staunton then played Hefina Headon in Pride, Knotgrass in Maleficent and its sequel, voiced Aunt Lucy in the Paddington movies and appeared in the Downton Abbey movie. She also appeared as The Interface in an episode of Doctor Who, played Alma Hitchcock in the television film The Girl and was in a miniseries called "Trying". As for theatre work, she played Mrs. Lovett in a stage musical of Sweeney Todd in 2012 at the Adelphi Theatre at London's West End and was in a stage production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf in 2017 at the Harold Pinter theatre. 

21. Clémency Poésy

French actress Clémency Poésy is well-known for Fleur Delacour in Goblet of Fire and then appeared in Deathly Hallows- Parts 1 and 2, being married to Bill Weasley. She then played Jeanne d'Arc in The Silence of Joan, was featured on a song called "Happenstance" from an album by Miles Kane, appeared alongside Michael Caine in Mr. Morgan's Last Love and made her Broadway debut in Cyrano de Bergerac in 2012. Clemency then starred in a show called The Tunnel and played Françoise Gilot in Genius: Picasso. Her well-known post-HP movie appearance was in Christopher Nolan's Tenet. When Clémency's not acting, she modeled for a few magazines including i-D, Jalouse and Nylon.

20. Julie Waters

Julie Waters is well-known to Potterheards as Molly Weasley and to non-Potterheads as Rosie from "Mamma Mia!". After playing Mrs. Weasley, she voiced the Witch from Pixar's Brave, played Mrs. Bird in Paddington and its sequel, and was in Mary Poppins Returns. In 2018, she revealed in an interview that she has bowel cancer and has now took a step back from acting and is going through remission and continues to do chemotherapy. I wish nothing for the best for her.

19. Tom Felton

Tom Felton is known to the world as Draco Malfoy, the spoiled Slytherin student. During the same year of Deathly Hallows-Part 2, he appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. In 2013, he played Viscount Trencavel in the miniseries Labyrinth and played James Ashford in "Belle". He then played a murder suspect in the TNT show Murder in the First in 2015. Tom then appeared in the Netflix movie Message from the King, which starred the late Chadwick Boseman, he then gained further post-Draco recognition in Season 3 of The Flash and appeared in the film Megan Leavey in 2017. Tom then had a chance to be a series regular in the YouTube show Origin and appeared in the Hamlet spin-off movie, Ophelia as Laertes. He also appeared in a music video for James Arthur's Empty Space. Tom Felton then went back to being a villain in "The Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting" in 2020. Tom Felton also has upcoming projects in the bag, including a WWII thriller called Burial and will play Earl H. Morris in Canyon del Muerto, a biopic about Ann Axtell Morris. He will then star in Lead Heads and Save The Cinema. 

18. Alfred Enoch

Alfred Enoch played fellow Gryffindor student, Dean. Afterwards, he broke out in the hit ABC legal drama/thriller series "How to Get Away with Murder" as Wes Gibbons. After leaving the show during Season 3, Enoch did theatre like appearing as Poor Tom in King Lear and joined the 2018 revival of Red alongside Alfred Molina at Wyman's Theatre. Alfred returned to TV, playing Aeneas in the Netflix historical miniseries, Troy: Fall of a City.

17. Fiona Shaw

Known to Potterheads as Petunia Dursley, Irish actress Fiona Shaw has made a name for herself pre-Harry Potter. She appeared in My Left Foot, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, and Richard II. Between 2001 and 2011, she appeared in the fourth season of True Blood. In 2018, she joined the hit show Killing Eve, appeared in an episode of Fleabag, was part of the cast of Baptiste and is set to be a part of the Cassian Andor spin-off show, which is a part of the Star Wars franchise. If you guys don't know, Cassian Andor was a character from Rogue One played Diego Luna and I can't wait for that!

16. David Thewlis

Remus Lupin is David Thewlis' most prominent role, first appearing in Prisoner of Azkaban. Before that however, he delivered a great performance in Mike Leigh's "Naked". He then appeared in James and the Giant Peach, Dragonheart and Seven Years in Tibet. During his HP days, he was in Kingdom of Heaven, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and War Horse. 3 years after Deathly Hallows, he appeared in The Theory of Everything, had a starring voice role in the Charlie Kaufman stop-motion animated psychological drama, Anomalisa and had a supporting role in another Charlie Kaufman movie, I'm Thinking of Ending Things. He also had three villain roles, Ares in Wonder Woman, the Shame Wizard in the second season of Big Mouth and V.M. Varga in season 3 of Fargo, the latter was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Thewlis is set to be in Avatar 3, which is set to release in 2024.

15. Brendan Gleeson

Brendan Gleeson first appeared in Harry Potter as Alastar Moody. Before that, he was in Braveheart, Michael Collins, A.I. Artifical Intelligence, 28 Days Later, Gangs of New York, Cold Mountain and Troy. In 2005, the same year as Goblet of Fire, he appeared in Kingdom of Heaven and in 2008, gave an exceptional performance in "In Bruges". In 2009, he won an Emmy for playing Winston Churchill in the HBO movie Into the Storm. After his last appearance in Deathly Hallows-Part 1, he appeared in Suffragette, Paddington 2, Calvary and the Coen Brothers' movie The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. In 2020, he played President Donald Trump in the Showtime miniseries The Comey Rule alongside Jeff Daniels. 

14. Domnhall Gleeson

I now move on to another Gleeson, and that is Brendan's son, Domnhall. He played Bill Weasley in Deathly Hallows-Parts 1 and 2. He then rose to prominence by having starring roles in Ex Machina, Frank and About Time and supporting roles in The Revenant and American Made. He's also known for playing General Hux in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He even played the author of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne in Goodbye, Christopher Robin. In 2020, he had another starring role in the dark comedy tv show "Run", which was executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. He also played Henry Beard in the biographical comedy film "A Futile and Stupid Gesture" about the story of National Lampoon. Let's just say that Dom is about to outshine his father. 

13. Jason Isaacs

You might know who Lucius Malfoy is, but actor Jason Isaacs is in a league far greater than his own. He's known for playing villain characters. During his time as Draco's father, he voiced Admiral Zhao in Avatar: The Last Airbender, played Captain Hook in 2003's Peter Pan and played Col. Tavington in 2000's The Patriot and played William Birkin in 2002's Resident Evil. After the franchise wrapped up, he continued his voice work, that included the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels, Sinestro in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Ra's al Ghul in Batman: Under the Red Hood, The Emperor in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Lex Luthor in Justice League: Gods and Monsters, The Judge in Castlevania, Superman in Superman: Red Son, Dick Dastardly in Scoob! and King Arthur in Scooby Doo! The Sword and the Scoob. Besides his voice work, he had live-action roles including the main antagonist in the Netflix show The OA, was in the war drama Fury, played Georgy Zhakov in the satire film, The Death of Stalin and played Captain Gabriel Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery. He's set to appear in Season 3 of Sex Education.

12. Helen McCrory

From one Malfoy to another, Helen McCrory played Draco's mother, Narcissa Malfoy in Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows- Part 2. She then appeared in the James Bond film, Skyfall and gained further recogition as Polly Gray/Aunt Polly in the Netflix series "Peaky Blinders". When not acting, McCrory served as an honorary patron of the London children's charity Scene & Heard. During COVID, she and husband and fellow actor, Damian Lewis supported Feed NHS, a programme that raised 1 million pounds by giving food to failing restaurants. On April 16th, 2020, Helen McCrory died from cancer. She was 52. RIP.

11. Maggie Smith

Maggie Smith has been acting since the mid-1950s. With an extensive career in stage, film and television, Smith was the definitive choice to play Professor Minerva McGonagall in 7 of its 8 films. She has appeared in over 60-70 plays including Antony & Cleopatra, Hedda Gabler, Night and Day, Richard III, Macbeth, Twelth Night, Private Lives, Cinderella, Othello and Much Ado About Nothing. She even played Virgina Wolf in a stage play from 1981 called Virginia. She became well-known for playing Scottish teacher Jean Brodie in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress, starred alongside Michael Caine in California Suite. In 1991, she appeared in Steven Spielberg's Hook, the following she appeared in Sister Act, then The Secret Garden, then appeared on Tea with Mussolini. In 2001, the same year of Sorcerer's Stone, she was part of the ensemble cast of the Robert Altman film, Gosford Park. A year after Deathly Hallows, she continued stage work, appearing in the stage revival of The Lady of Dubuque in the West End. Maggie Smith gained further popularity by playing Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Graham in Downton Abbey and its movie and will play Violet again in its film sequel. In 2012, she starred in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel, Dustin Hoffman's directed movie, Quartet, My Old Lady, reprised her starring stage role in The Lady in the Van. Smith is set to star in a Netflix adaptation of A Boy Called Christmas alongside Sally Hawkins, Kristen Wiig, Jim Broadbent, and Toby Jones. Maggie Smith is still doing great things even when she's at her 80s!

10. Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter is known for playing gothic characters, with Bellatrix Lestrange being one of them. She rose to fame in 1985 with A Room with a View, and Lady Jane in 1986, and gained further popularity for Wings of the Dove in 1997 and Fight Club. Following her Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in The King's Speech, she continued to work with long-time collaborating director, Tim Burton in Dark Shadows. Helena is now currently playing Princess Margaret in seasons 3, 4 and 5 in the Netflix series, The Crown and played Eudoria Holmes in Enola Holmes. 

9. Emma Thompson

Emma Thompson is known for her performances from the 90s, most notably Howard's End. In the 2000s, she played Professor Trelawney in Prisoner of Azkaban, and continued to play her for 3 more movies. In 2012, she voiced Queen Eleanore in Pixar's Brave, played Agent O in Men in Black 3 and Men In Black: International, starred as Mary Poppins author, P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks, appeared on Bridget Jones' Baby, voiced Mrs. Potts in the Beauty and the Beast remake, then appeared on Johnny English Strikes Again, The Meyerowitz Stories and Last Christmas. She then starred alongside Mindy Kaling in Late Night and then she recently appeared in Cruella. 

8. Ralph Fiennes

Before he was The Dark Lord, Ralph Fiennes had many memorable performances in the 90s including  a memorable role as Amon Göth in Schindler's List, he also starred in Strange Days, voiced Rameses in The Prince of Egypt, starred in Quiz Show and The Constant Gardener, the latter came out the same year Voldemort appeared in Goblet of Fire. Between 2005 and 2011, he was in In Bruges, The Reader, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Clash of the Titans. In 2014, he had a great comedic starring role in The Grand Budapest Hotel, starred in two Shakespeare plays, Richard III at the Almeida Theatre and Antony and Cleopatra at the Royal National Theatre. In 2016, he had a supporting role in the Coen Brothers movie, "Hail, Caesar!" and voiced Alfred Pennyworth in The Lego Batman Movie. He then played Ben Emmerson in the real-life political thriller, Official Secrets, Basil Brown in The Dig and is starring in the upcoming Kingsman spin-off movie, The Kings Man. Voldie's been keeping himself busy.

7. Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is known for his insane acting tactics. I mean, just watch him in The Professional! He also played Sid Vicious in Sid & Nancy, his well-known early role. After his last appearance as Sirius Black in the Order of the Phoenix, he continued to play James Gordon in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. He then went back to playing a villain, this time as the voice of Lord Shen in Kung Fu Panda 2. 3 years later, he appeared in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and then played Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. He received another Oscar nomination for playing Herman Mankiewicz in David Fincher's Mank. He's set to star in the Apple TV+ show, Slow Horses alongside Olivia Cooke, Jonathan Pryce, Kristen Scott Thomas and Jack Lowden. 

6. John Hurt

John Hurt became known for his role as Kane, the guy who's chest was bursted in Alien. He then gained further popularity for playing John Merrick in David Lynch's The Elephant Man. He was then in the movie, 1984 and then was well-known by Potterheads for playing Mr Ollivander. After reprising that role, he appeared in Snowpiercer, which was directed by Bong Joon-ho. He then appeared in the movie, Jackie, about the aftermath of JFK's death in the POV of Jackie O. On January 25th, 2017, 2 years after his battle with pancreatic cancer, he passed away in his Norfolk home

5. Alan Rickman

You can't think of Severus Snape, without thinking of Alan Rickman. He has played him over the course of 10 years. Before that, he was known for playing Hans Gruber, the main villain from Die Hard and played another main bad guy in the form of the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He also had a memorable villain role in Sweeney Todd as Judge Turpin. In 2013, he played the controversial President of the United States, Ronald Reagan in The Butler and voiced The Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland and its sequel. On August 2015, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after suffering a minor stroke which later became terminal. On January 14, 2016, he passed away at only 69 years old.

4. Harry Melling

Harry Melling is known for his role as Dudley Dursley. After appearing in Deathly Hallows- Part 2, he lost a considerable amount of weight and started having supporting roles 6 years later starting with The Lost City of Z, and then appearing in movies like The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Old Guard and The Devil All the Time. He then appeared in the critically acclaimed miniseries, The Queen's Gambit. He's set to be in a film directed by Joel Coen called The Tragedy of MacBeth, which is reportedly a different take on the Shakespeare play. I can't wait to see what he's going to do next!

3. Daniel Radcliffe

Since playing The Boy Who Lived, Daniel Radcliffe has been keeping himself busy since then. He starred in the supernatural horror film, The Woman in Black, then played Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings and then starred in the dark fantasy film, Horns. He also cameoed as a Dog Walker in Judd Apatow's directed comedy film, Trainwreck, he then played Igor in 2015's Victor Frankenstein, starred alongside Paul Dano in a comedy-drama film called Swiss Army Man as a dead body named Manny, appeared in Now You See Me 2, played an FBI Informant who infiltrates a whiten nationalist group in a movie called Imperium and then starred in more indie films like Jungle as Yossi Ghinsberg, Beast of Burden, played prisoner escapee Tim Jenkins and starred in a dark comedy called Guns Akimbo. He also voiced Thomas the Tank Engine in a Robot Chicken episode, voiced himself in Bojack Horseman, appeared in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt special and is now starring in a TBS comedy show called Miracle Worker and is set to be in a movie with Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock called The Lost City of D. WOW, Harry's been doing good!

2. Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson was relatively known as Hufflepuff student Cedric Diggory in the Goblet of Fire, he then broke out in the Twilight franchise as Edward Cullen. After that franchise ended, he became an indie superstar. He starred in The Rover, Map to the Stars, which was directed by David Cronenberg, then had a supporting role in The Lost City of Z and gained more mainstream popularity, starring in Good Time, where he plays a bank robber trying to not get caught at every turn, shedding his Twilight image in the process. He then starred in a western comedy called Damsel, starred in the sci-fi psychological drama High Life and had a supporting role in the Netflix movie, The King. He peaked with his starring role in a bizarre and psychological horror film, The Lighthouse which gained universal praise. Oh! And he's playing Batman in Matt Reeves' The Batman, which is set to come out on March 2022.

1. Emma Watson

Out of the Golden trio, Emma Watson is the one actor who has succeeded the most. Following her iconic role as Hermione Granger, she had a supporting role in My Week with Marilyn and then followed it up with a memorable performance as high school student, Sam Button in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, played Alexis Neiers in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring and had another supporting role in Darren Aronofsky's Noah. She gained post-Harry Potter popularity with a starring role as Belle in the Beauty and the Beast remake and then she followed it up with a role in Greta Gerwig's Little Women as Meg March. When Emma Watson's not acting, she has become a role model for female empowerment and doing activist work by advocating for women's rights, and has since found peace from the intense fame that she endured as a child, and was named in British GQ's Woman of the Year in 2013. She has been in a relationship with Leo Robinton, an American Businessman since 2019.
