Worst Movies of 2020

Hey, Everybody! I've given you the best movies of 2020 and now I'm going to give you 2020's worst films! If I've missed one movie that you thought the was the worst, please comment below. It's very encouraged.

10. The Jesus Rolls

Jesus Quintana was a memorable supporting character in The Big Lewbowski played by John Turturro. A spin-off movie about this character was the last thing that anyone needed! Not even the Coen Brothers were involved with this movie. It was unfunny, painfully long with a runtime of an 1hr and 40 min. and very offensive to native Italians! Why would you put Pete Davidson through this?!

9. The Last Thing He Wanted

Following up the soul-crushing masterpiece that was Mudbound, Dee Rees directed a political thriller that was unfortunately misguided and very terrible. Based on true events, Anne Hathaway starred as a journalist who gets involved in her father's arms business during the 1984 President Election. Besides the misleading premise, this was a story that had very unlikeable characters. Let's just that this was the last thing that nobody wanted.

8. The Tax Collector

This could've been David Ayer's perfect follow-up to Bright, but this was instead another misfire from a once-promising filmmaker. Also, who in their right mind thought that it would be great to have Shia Labeouf play a man of Latin descent with permanent tattoos on his body?! The film had zero plot, a boring protagonist and editing that'll make your head scratch. If you were planning on seeing this, you might wanna remove this from your watchlist.

7. John Henry

Terry Crews can stick to being a host and playing Terry on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, what he shouldn't do be in action movies that might ruin his image. With an abysmal 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, it follows a former gang member who must help two immigrant children get away from his former boss. Cool premise? Well, it didn't exactly work in execution. The acting is very laughable and the score is cheesy.

6. 365 Days

If you though Fifty Shades was bad, get a load of this. A Polish woman is kidnapped by a guy from Sicily and forces her to be her sex slave. The acting is very terrible and its sex scenes are very hard to watch and not to mention that this pairing is very problematic to begin with!! If that wasn't bad enough, two sequels are now in production.

5. Hillbilly Elegy

This movie could've been Ron Howard's big comeback and follow-up to Solo: A Star Wars Story. What could've been an insightful look into drug addiction and child abandonment was an offensive portrayal of the Deep South. You know that it's bad sign that Amy Adams and Glenn Close could've finally won their Oscars but nope!

4. The Last Days of American Crime

What could've been an engaging action film was an offensive and tone-deaf look at what a criminal justice system would've looked like in the future. It was boring, it had lousy action set pieces and a waste of a talented cast. If you want to watch good action movies just rewatch Dredd and The Raid.

3. The New Mutants

Talk about heartbreak. The New Mutants was teased to become an incredible superhero horror movie but was pushed back many times because of the Disney-Fox acquisition and the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that this film was delayed for 2 years. This was obviously a bad sign that this was going to suck and that it was never going to come out in the first place. Consider this a worthy follow-up to the literal dumpster fire that was Dark Phoenix. Oh, and I do have a blog post on its production problems.

2. Dolittle

Really, RDJ? This is how you follow up, Iron Man? This is a sign that Hollywood should abandon Dr. Dolittle entirely! Robert Downey Jr. thought of playing a doctor who can speak to animals and the result was pure cringe. None of the voice cast didn't deserve to be playing CGI-ed animals!

1. Artemis Fowl

Even after the Harry Potter craze died down, many films have tried to replicate its success but to no avail. Artemis Fowl was its latest attempt and what could've been a worthy adaptation of beloved children's novel series was an exposition dump of inexplicable plot points and mythology into an 1hr and 45 min. movie! And why did Josh Gad have to play a dwarf with a very disgusting voice?! The fact that it was in development for a decade and that Disney altered almost everything from the books didn't help matters either.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment below what you think the worst movie of 2020 was.
