Movies that might suck in 2021 & 2022

Hi, Everybody! Today I'll be discussing the upcoming movies that are coming out but might become either bad, mediocre or disappointing. Some of these movies might actually be good, but it's not to ignore what's been going on behind the scenes, what has been shown and the talent involved.

Alright.. Let's begin. And please no negative comments.

15. Jurassic World: Dominion

In 2015, the Jurassic Park franchise got revived in the form of Jurassic World, in which the park has officially open to the public and that a very rare hybrid dinosaur has been created and is set loose. Naturally the movie became one of the highest grossing movies of the year and a summer blockbuster and a sequel was made in the form of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and, well... the film had a mixed response and I really really wanted to enjoy it, but I just couldn't! I loved the film's concept but it just did not work in execution. Jurassic Park sequels never ever work. The Lost World or Jurassic Park II involved a park being built in San Francisco of all places and having the T-Rex be its star attraction! That's the stupidest idea that you can ever think of!! Jurassic Park III was even worse and Steven Spielberg wasn't even involved. It's most likely that Dominion will nearly ruin the Jurassic Park franchise and even if Colin Trevorrow is back as director and Laura Dern and Sam Neill are reprising their memorable roles, the third film will involve the dinosaurs roaming the United States and that's basically it. But regardless, it's Jurassic Park so I'll still watch it. Who knows it might surprise me.

14. Indiana Jones 5

Look I love Indiana Jones as the next guy, it didn't need a 4th movie! The Last Crusade wrapped up Dr. Jones' story so well, but NOOO!!! You just had to put aliens in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Did you not learn your lesson, Lucasfilm?! We don't want another Indiana Jones movie. A fifth one is unnecessary at this point, by the time Indiana Jones 5 is out of development hell, Harrison Ford will lose interest at some point. But idk, with James Mangold as writer/director, it could be good but I'm not giving it a chance, I don't care if he directed Logan and Ford v. Ferrari(MASTERPIECES).

13. Aquaman 2

Ok, I loved Aquaman(2018). I thought that it was soo much fun to watch, the visuals were gorgeous, the action was insane and Jason Momoa is a bad-ass. The upcoming sequel has one flaw: Amber Heard. It was recently revealed that Amber Heard has been abusing former Husband, Johnny Depp and when he sued The Sun for painting him as an abuser, he lost the case and now Heard has been brought back to reprise her role as Mera and Warner Bros. is never going to fire and replace her, which is a very very hard pill to swallow. I'm very certain that Amber's appearance will hurt the sequel. Yes, it's part of the DCEU's continuity and James Wan is back as director, but I'm not watching a movie with a husband-beater in the movie, I'M SORRY! AND YES, MEN CAN BE VICTIMS TOO.

12. Tom & Jerry

Before you ask, yes, there's a Tom & Jerry movie coming out and yes, it's in live-action. Basically, the iconic cat & mouse wreak havoc in a hotel in New York City and that's about it. Oh! And the animals are cartoons! WHAT?! Why not real animals! That would make it so much better. You know what, a live-action Tom & Jerry shouldn't happen in the first place! And from the looks of its recent trailer, the human characters don't add much to the story. It may be appealing to kids, but to die-hard fans like myself, not much. I'd rather watch the classic shorts, thank you very much.

11. Chicken Run 2

Chicken Run 2 has long been rumored and it's finally happening! But here's my big concern, the actress who voiced Ginger, Julia Sawalha was fired for being too old to voice her. Umm... what?! That's age-ism! This won't be the same without her! While I'm not sure that it will be released in 2022, it's most likely a possibility.

10. The King's Man

Kingsman: The Secret Service was knock-out and a bloody awesome movie!! Naturally, I wanted more Kingsman and I really didn't like the sequel! It was poorly paced, it had weak character developments and there was one controversial scene that was very hated. Oh, I really thought Channing Tatum was going to kick-ass but he ended up in a coma before he can do anything cool! Kingsman 3 was left in limbo and The King's Man, a prequel in the franchise will be coming out soon and I'm actually excited for it, but here's the thing. Since that Kingsman is a Fox property and that the Disney-Fox acquisition happened, it has been incredibly difficult for 20th Century Studios to release it and the CO-VID 19 pandemic has made the release even more frustrating. Let's hope that the February 12th, 2021 release will stick.

9. The Boss Baby: Family Business

I didn't like The Boss Baby. There! I said it, I just thought that it wasn't funny. You think baby humor and fart jokes make you laugh?! Well, I mean Alec Baldwin as The Boss Baby makes it watchable and since that movie had made over $530 million at the box office, a sequel was inevitable. Family Business' plot is that Tim is now grown up and married and Boss Baby is now a CEO of a hedge fund and they both work together with the help of a super spy baby to uncover dark secrets of the Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood. A super spy baby is very out of left field and soo SuperBabies and Idk.... just because the incredibly still sexy Jeff Goldblum is the main villain. OHH BOY!! But I'm just concerned that it will have the same old jokes from the previous movie.

8. Snake Eyes

A solo movie with one of G.I. Joe's greatest characters?! Sign me up! But... here's the thing, Snake Eyes can't talk and Harry Golding is well-known for his English accent! A couple of G.I. Joe movies were made in the past but neither have failed to capture the magic of its toys and cartoons. The prequel will take a page from Bumblebee and it might become something special. The movie is directed by Robert Schwenke who previously directed the two Divergent sequels which were critically panned upon release and is written by Evan Spiliotopoulos who wrote the Charlie's Angels reboot and The Huntsman: Winter's War. So yeah, it will become a potential flop once it releases in theaters and I might give it a watch just because the actress who plays Tokyo in Money Heist will be in it!! LOVE THAT SHOW.

7. The Hitman's Wife Bodyguard

The Hitman's Bodyguard was simple, Samuel L. Jackson plays a hitman who needs the help of a bodyguard and hijacks ensue. This was the Deadpool and Nick Fury team-up movie that was waiting to happen. While the movie had some decent scenes, it had frequent tonal shifts which basically hurt the film, the sequel has a very awkward title and it involves Reynolds protecting the hitman's wife. The plot just sounds lazy and I'm very confident that it will be very very bad.

6. Sesame Street

There were some Sesame Street movies that I really can't recall, but Hollywood plans on giving Sesame Street the big screen treatment. The plot involves Big Bird and his friends being transported from their neighborhood to Manhattan. They team up with a tv host played by Anne Hathaway, who's on a quest to save her show and prove that Sesame Street still exists, with obstacles created by the "evil' mayor who is probably based on Bill de Blasio, to keep the iconic street hidden from the world. It might sound appealing to kids and old fans alike but I have a feeling that this will add to Hathaway's list of very bad choices. Regardless, the movie is directed by Jonathan Krisel who wrote for Portlandia, Baskets and Saturday Night Live, so this could be another surprise hit for all I know.

5. Minecraft

Minecraft needs no introduction, it's been made aware that Minecraft is the decade's most defining thing of the internet and one of the most enjoyable video games of all time, a Minecraft movie was inevitable and it has been in production for 6 years. Shawn Levy was attached to direct at some point but left due to creative differences with Mojang and its developers and Peter Sollett will now direct the film. The plot sounds nothing like Minecraft, it involves a young girl and her friends who have to stop a dragon and save the Overworld. Given the production history, it's most likely that the movie will be hated by OG Minecraft fans, including... yes, Pewdiepie. Warner Bros. has made LEGOs work and Sollett has previously directed Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist which is a great rom-com by the way. So... maybe it won't suck?

4. The Addams Family 2

An animated Addams Family movie was released last year and.. it wasn't good at all. Let's be real, it was o only made due to the success of Hotel Transylvania and they're not even from the same company! I don't even know why and how a sequel was greenlit in the first place! I DON'T WANT IT! PERIOD. It'll probably take a page from Addams Family Values but I'm not counting on it. AT ALL.

3. Uncharted

This movie has been in development hell for... I don't know how long anymore. It's basically a Nathan Drake origin story movie instead a traditional Nathan Drake story and Nathan Fillion should've been casted. The project has gone through multiple directors including David O. Russell, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight. Ruben Fleischer is current sitting director and Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will play Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan respectively. From the looks of the behind the scenes photos, it looks promising and Tom honestly looks great as Nathan but after 2018's Tomb Raider was a disappointment, it might have the same fate. I really really want this movie to be good. Let's hope Sony, PlayStation and Naughty Dog can do the source material right.

2. Fantastic Beasts 3

As a die-hard Potterhead, I am definitely not looking forward to this one. I'm just not interested in the Fantastic Beasts franchise anymore! David Yates will be directed 6, YES! 6 FANTASTIC BEASTS MOVIES THAT I DON'T WANT! Couldn't you just make it into a trilogy?! That would've been fine. On top of all of that, Johnny Depp was fired just because he lost the case that I mentioned earlier!! IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THE FAN BACKLASH OF GRINDEWALD!! IT'S BECAUSE THAT HE'S FALSELY ACCUSED OF BEING A WIFE BEATER! You fire Depp, but you don't fire Amber Heard and Ezra Miller?! Hollywood can be hypocritical. The sequels need to be canceled or else the Potterhead fanbase will be dead by the time it comes out.

Honorable Mentions:

- Dungeons & Dragons

Seriously, when is Hollywood going to realize that movies based on board games don't work?!

- PAW Patrol: The Movie

Why would anyone want to watch a Paw Patrol movie?

- Luck

This a film concept of the idea of people having Good Luck and Bad Luck. It's a lazy concept if you ask me.

- Avatar 2

We've lost interest in the sequels when we've all realized that James Cameron's Avatar is a White Savior movie.

- The Man from Toronto

Same guy who directed The Hitman's Bodyguard is release another mediocre action comedy.

- Untitled Jackass Sequel

Who even watches Jackass anymore?

- Clifford the Big Red Dog

Big Live-Action red dog roaming the city? No thanks.

1. Chaos Walking

This movie has the potential to become the biggest garbage movie ever put in "theaters". I put theaters in quotes it will probably go straight to VOD. So basically Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley are in a movie together. YUP! Spider-Man and Rey are in the same movie! It is full of red flags. It finished filming back in 2017 and they couldn't release it just because of poor test screenings and the plot involves a dystopian world where there are NO WOMEN and Tom's character discovers the first woman that he ever sees and all of the male thoughts are on full display and she can hear their thoughts!! IT'S THE WEIRDEST PLOT I'VE EVER HEARD! The YA craze has died down! The movie will also definitely destroy Doug Liman's reputation as a director. It looks like a guilty pleasure and I'll watch it just to hate on it.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment your thoughts below.
