The Troubled Production of The New Mutants

Image
Hello, Everybody. Today, I did something also completely different. This the story behind the very doomed production of the latest Marvel-licensed movie, The New Mutants. I wanted to see this movie forever ago. It was supposed to come out on April 13th, 2018, which was a Friday the 13th, the perfect release of a horror movie. Unfortunately, it was delayed soo many times!! Which made me lose interest as the wait continued. So, here's how everything went soo wrong. After Josh Boone did The Fault in Our Stars for 20th Century Fox, he created his own comic book with his best friend, Knate Lee by using panels from Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkwicz's New Mutants comics to show what a potential movie trilogy could look like. They were both fans of the characters since they were kids. Boone and Lee took the comic to X-Men movie producer, Simon Kinberg and he really liked it.  The next year, Fox finalized a deal to have Boone direct the film from a script from himself and Knate Lee,

The Life and Career of Chadwick Boseman

Image
The Life and Career of Chadwick Boseman Good Evening, Everyone. I took the time today to talk about not just a man, but one of the best actors of the decade, Chadwick Boseman who passed away yesterday from a four-year battle with colon cancer.   Born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, his parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman are both African American. According to a DNA test, it indicated that his ancestors were part of the Krio people from Sierra Leone, Yoruba people from Nigeria and Limba people from Sierra Leone. So, yeah. He was the right choice to play Black Panther. Carolyn was a nurse while Leroy worked at a textile factory. He graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in 1995. During his junior year, he wrote his first play, Crossroads and staged it. He was raised Catholic and was baptized and was part of a church choir and youth group and was also a vegetarian. He then attended Howard University and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in directing. Three years late

Most Anticipated Movies of 2021

Most Anticipated Movies of 2021 Hello, Everybody! It has been roughly... 13 days since I've posted my last blog post because I was writing a bunch of ideas and I have a lot and I have a couple of drafts that I still need to get back to. Since that we're halfway through the year and that we won't get to see any of these big movies that were supposed to come out this year, I made a list of all of the movies that I can't wait to see! This movie's release dates will most likely subject to change and I'll probably update it after any of these movie's dates have been pushed back by another year. Ok, here's the list. 25. Gucci Although Ridley Scott's next movie is The Last Duel, there will also be another movie of his that's coming next year. The movie is a biopic about Patrizia Reggiani(who will be played by Lady Gaga), the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci who was tried and convicted for orchestrating an assassination of him and served 18 years in prison befo

Best Robin Williams Movie/TV Roles   Hello, Everybody! This blog post is a dedication to the late Robin Williams. It's very hard to believe that he passed away 6 years ago. He has made us laugh and cry over the years with these magnificent roles. Alright, guys. Hope you have tissues with you while you're reading my post. 12. Peter Pan- Hook In this movie directed Steven Spielberg, Williams stepped into the role of The Boy Who Never Grows Up. An interesting take on the story of Peter Pan, Robin Williams made up it's guilty pleasure movie with comedic effect. 11. Mork- Mork & Mindy Williams gained huge recognition as a TV star in this spin-off of Happy Days, playing an alien named Mork from the planet, Ork who crash lands on earth to study human behavior in Boulder, Colorado and becomes roommates with Mindy. Mork was widely considered to be Williams' biggest role of his career, showing off his unique skill of physical and vocal comedy. Seeing a character like Mork int

Review: Project Power

Image
Review: Project Power Hello, Everybody! Today I reviewed the latest Netflix action thriller movie, Project Power.  While it is also called a Superhero film, I'd like to say otherwise and here's why. The premise of the movie is that a former soldier, played Jamie Foxx teams up with a teenage girl, played by Dominique Fishback and a cop, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt to find the source behind a dangerous pill that gives you superpowers... for only 5 minutes. A movie where characters have powers for only 5 minutes doesn't make it a superhero movie! That's just my opinion. I'm very very mixed about this movie, first off I loved the cast particularly Dominique Fishback. She was really good in it, she carried this whole movie and I'm looking forward to what's in store for her next. Oh! And Machine Gun Kelly! I mostly watched this movie just because he was in it. He's one of my favorite musicians ever and I absolutely can't wait for his next album. He'

Every Season of Game of Thrones ranked

Image
Hello Everybody!  Game of Thrones has been a part of my life since I was 16 years old. It has been one of favorite shows ever until I saw how it ended.😒 For those of you who don't know what Game of Thrones is, it's a dark fantasy series based on a book series by George R.R. Martin and created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss that aired on HBO for 9 years and was the biggest show of the past decade. It revolved around a bunch of different families, The Starks, The Targaryens, The Baratheons, The Boltons and bunch of other families that I don't need to mention, vying for the control of the seven kingdoms of Westeros and sit atop the Iron Throne.  I've now ranked all 8 seasons of this fantastic show. Be warned, this ranking has MAJOR SPOILERS! If you didn't watch the show, don't read the list. Binge all 8 seasons before you can read it, although you will be disappointed by the series finale.  Ok. Here we go. 8. Season 8 It had been 2 years since Season 7 came out

Movies that would never be made today

Movies that would never be made today Hello, Everybody! Today I’m going to discuss old movies that wouldn’t be made in the present day. Most of these movies are comedies and I’m not saying that these movies are bad, actually some of them are pretty bad. It’s just that these movies wouldn’t happen in today’s climate. Ok, here’s the list. 20. Love Actually Yes, Love Actually is a great Rom-Com with genuine moments and popularized Ensemble Rom-Com pieces and is considered a Holiday classic. But if you look back on it now, it's many side plots are very problematic. Andrew Lincoln's character, Mark is in love with his best friend's wife and shows up on her doorstep declaring his love for her and it's creepy on so many levels, Alan Rickman's character, Harry cheats on his wife, Colin travels across the country with condoms in his bag and won over women instantly, not to mention the fat shaming and a sub plot involving the Prime Minister being in a relationship with one

The Life and Career of John Travolta

Image
Hello, Everybody! Top picture is actor John Travolta, an actor who has gone through many highs and lows during his career. His career has been a seesaw so far which I've pretty much covered in this article.  Born in Englewood, Bergen County, New Jersey and growing up in an Irish American neighborhood, his father, Salvatore "Sam" Travolta was a semi-pro American football player turned tire salesman and a partner in a tire company, Travolta Tyre Exchange and was a second-generation Italian-American while his mother, Helen Cecilia was an actress and a singer who appeared in a vocal group called The Sunshine Sisters before becoming an English and Drama teacher and was Irish American. Travolta has said that his home was Irish in culture and is raised Roman Catholic, but converted to Scientology in 1975. He and his siblings, Joey, Ellen, Ann, Margaret, and Sam were all inspired by their mother's work and pursued acting. He also attended Dwight Morrow High School, but droppe

The True Story behind Zola

Image
The True Story Behind Zola Hello, Everybody! Today I will be talking about the anticipated release of the Sundance hit, Zola and the shocking story of the craziest Stripper Saga ever put on the internet.  A woman named Aziah "Zola" Wells posted a 148-twitter thread about a trip that she took to Florida with a stripper named Jessica. The first tweet read "Y'all wanna hear a story about why me & this bitch here fell  out???????? It's kind of a long story." So, guys. Here's the shocking story behind Zola. Working at Hooters as a Waitress in Detroit, Zola meets a stripper named Jessica Rae and they bonded over dancing because Zola used to work as a stripper back in the day and they later exchanged numbers. The next day, Jessica calls Zola and says "LETS GO TO FLORIDA"! At first, Zola was confused and then she later explained that she's going to dance in Florida. Zola couldn't pass that up because she LOVES Florida and then said that she

Every Spider-Man Movie ranked!

Every Spider-Man movie ranked: Hello, Everybody! Since that today is National Spider-Man day, I did a ranking of the Spider-Man movies. This is based on my personal opinion. If you don't like the ranking then you can go off in the comments.  8. Spider-Man 3 The movie that nearly destroyed Spider-Man and put Toby Maguire's career in jeopardy. It had problems most notably the inclusion of 3 Spider-Man villains as main antagonists, Peter strutting down the street and looking like a complete jack-ass, the runtime and Topher Grace's portrayal of Eddie Brock/Venom. While I don't blame the poor guy, the movie could've been better if a more muscular man played one of Spidey's biggest foes. Luckily Tom Hardy took up the mantle and the result was brilliant. Director Sam Raimi even publicly hated the film saying that it's "awful." A 4th movie was planned in case Spider-Man 3 became a commercial success with John Malkovich and Anne Hathaway in talks to play bo
