My Predictions for San Diego Comic-Con@Home

My Predictions for San Diego Comic-Con@Home

Hello,  Everybody! I'm Santiago Brion and welcome to my Blog Post! Today, I'm going to show you guys what I really hope to see during this years San Diego Comic-Con! This will be interesting since that this will be a virtual presentation of everything pop culture-related that will be coming very soon. I've included TV shows in this list, because I'm thinking of changing my blog to Santi's Film & Television talks because I'm also a fan of Television. Ok, LETS GET IT!!

  • New Details on Space Jam: A New Legacy
The long-awaited sequel to Space Jam, the movie will officially have NBA superstar, Lebron James teaming with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang for another high-risk game of Basketball. Hopefully, the movie will live up to its predecessor since that a lot of things in Space Jam haven't aged well including its humor. It's the perfect opportunity to reveal new details like what it'll really be about and more cameos of famous Basketball players including Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry and it'll hopefully see the return of Michael Jordan.
  • Amazon releases a new trailer for The Boys: Season 2
It has been almost a year since Prime Video's Biggest TV show, The Boys ended its debut season with a cliffhanger. Most of the cast have returned including Karl Urban and Jack Quaid. There are so many questions that need to be answered! Will A-Train survive his heart attack? & How is Becca alive? If by the end of June there is no release date it will most likely be revealed when SDCC arrives.

  • M. Night Shymalan announces new movie
M. Night Shymalan's known for many of his movies to have twist endings that are... hit or miss to say the least. His next film project was announced for a 2021 release date but was unfortunately pulled indefinitely due to the Coronavirus. If M. Night does make an appearance, he will most likely reveal the title of his new movie. But I'm not really holding my breath because he's really not that much a good director as he once was and that his last movie, Glass was a disappointment.

  • New Details on Scream 5
Yes, Scream 5 is coming! While we know for a fact that it'll be directed by Ready or Not director duo, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillet, Kevin Williamson returning to write the script and that both Neve Campbell and David Arquette will reprise their roles as Sidney Prescott & Officer Dwight "Dewey" Riley respectively, plot details have been so far scarce. The movie won't obviously be the same without Wes Craven as director, because well... he's dead. I can only hope that it'll have the same humor and thrills from its previous installments(minus Scream 3, seriously that movie was BAD.) It's the perfect opportunity for new plot details, when production will start and who else will join this meta-horror franchise.

  • New Details on Halloween Kills
On October 2018, the sequel to 1978's Halloween was released. It retconned all of the Halloween sequels including Rob Zombie's Halloween movies and kept the first movie canon. It was a return to form to the iconic horror franchise. Halloween Kills will pick up where Halloween 2018 left off and continue the story of Laurie Strode's survival from Michael Myers. While its original release date was thankfully not pushed back, there still no sneak peeks on the sequel. Hopefully during SDCC@Home, its first trailer will release.

  • New Free Guy trailer
"Free Guy"starring Ryan Reynolds, follows a bank teller named Guy who realizes that he's a non-playable character in a Fortnite-style video game called Free City and must save the game before developers shut down Free City. Originally going to be released on July 3rd, Free Guy was unfortunately pushed back to December 11th. Hopefully a new trailer will show more footage and that Jacksepticeye will appear at the panel, because there's a cameo in the movie.

  • Disney releases its first look at The Mandalorian: Season 2 and more Star Wars Projects will be announced
When The Mandalorian released on Disney+ during the streaming service's first launch, it immediately took the world by storm, becoming the biggest television show since Stranger Things. Before it was even released, the show was renewed for a second season and afterwards a third season was renewed. Its new season will reportedly bring more action and that Rosario Dawson will finally play Ahsoka Tano and that Boba Fett will finally return Yes! I wanted her to accept the role for soo long! It was also announced that Taika Waititi will direct a new Star Wars movie but there have been no updates since. Hopefully, The Mandalorian; Season 2 will release its first trailer and that the production date for the untitled Star Wars movie will be revealed and during the virtual panel, the Obi-Wan TV show will finally be revealed, a new Star Wars trilogy might be announced and Dave Filoni needs to announce a new Star Wars TV show. Maybe it's a Star Wars Rebels sequel show or something during the Clone Wars.

  • Mortal Kombat movie teaser trailer
When it was announced that a Mortal Kombat reboot movie was announced, I was very skeptical. But then it was announced that it will receive an R-rating and that James Wan will produce the film. While plot details haven't been revealed yet, its cast is so surprisingly perfect. Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax Briggs, Elissa Cadwell as Nitara, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Sisi Stringer as Mileena and Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero!! THIS WILL BE AMAZING!... hopefully. It's the right opportunity to reveal its footage on SDCC@HOME.

  • Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender casting announcements
Last year, it was announced that Netflix will adapt Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender with its original creators, Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko as Executive Producers. I'm so excited to have my favorite animated series finally done justice in Live-Action! Hopefully during SDCC, the casting of Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko and General Iroh will finally be revealed!

  • A first look at The Witcher: Season 2
During the Holiday season of 2019, The Witcher starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia became the biggest Netflix show ever! It's Netflix's answer to Game of Thrones. A week before it was released, it was renewed for a second season. Hopefully during SDCC, the entire cast will return and reveal new details about the season and when it will be released.

  • Cursed sneak peek
Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel of the same name, the Netflix original tv show will be a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, the Lady of the Lake and it stars Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell and Gustaf Skarsgard as Nimue, Arthur and Merlin respectively. It will be released sometime this year and hopefully at SDCC@HOME, a first peek of footage will be released.

  • Hilda: Season 2 first look revealed!
Hilda is the story of a girl who travels from the wilderness to a sprawling city with new friends and mythical creatures. The British-animated Netflix series will hopefully make a return this year and SDCC@HOME will definitely show new footage. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!

  • Hulu reveals new details on MODOK and Helstrom
A while ago, a handful of Marvel animated series have been announced including Howard the Duck. So far, a few of them have been canceled with only MODOK and Helstrom still in development. Hopefully, both of the animated series will have new details including what they will both look like and they will be released.

  • Deadpool 3 first look!
After the box office success of Deadpool 2, another sequel was obviously going to be announced. Since that X-Force is now canceled, Deadpool 3 will continue Ryan Reynolds' role as the Merc with the mouth. Hopefully, a director will be announced and what Deadpool 3 will be about.

  • Hannibal is saved!
It's been 5 LONG years since Hannibal was unceremoniously canceled by NBC due to lower viewership. Now that all three seasons are now on Netflix and that the show will hopefully be revived and become a Netlfix original, this is the perfect time for series creator, Bryan Fuller to announce the show's return at SDCC@HOME.

  • New Details on upcoming DCEU properties!
The DC Extended Universe had a very rocky start with Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam! and Birds of Prey surprisingly brought the franchise at an all-time high. With more upcoming movies like Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Black Aadam, Aquaman 2, The Flash and Shazam! 2, SDCC will announce more new details, including the premise of Suicide Squad and its characters and more new projects will be announced. Although it's unlikely that Man of Steel 2 will be confirmed there are still more movies that have yet to have the latest news.

  • Denis Villeneuve's Dune trailer released
When I heard the news that Dune's going to be remade and re-adapted from Frank Herbert's book of the same, I got really excited because one of my favorite directors, Denis Villeneuve will be helming the project. I mean, if he can bring Los Angeles 2049 to life in the Blade Runner sequel, imagine how he brought Arrakis to life! Hopefully, the cast which consists of... Timothy Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem. This is the perfect opportunity to finally release its debut trailer at SDCC@HOME. I can't wait for December 18th!

  • First look of The Batman
Although the release of The Batman was pushed back to October 1, 2021, Matt Reeves and the cast might make an appearance at the DC virtual panel during Comic-Con. Robert Pattinson might surprisingly show up in his batsuit and reveal himself as the new Batman and that the movie's version of The Joker might be revealed. It could be Joaquin Phoenix's character Arthur Fleck or another actor to play The Joker... hopefully it's not Jared Leto. Willem Dafoe might finally be cast to play the crown prince of crime since that Batman Arkham's Joker looks exactly like him.

  • New details on Sony Pictures Universe. of Marvel Characters
While Venom wasn't favored by critics, moviegoers enjoyed it. Including myself. With Morbius becoming its second movie in the franchise and Venom: Let There Be Carnage being its third, more new movies could be announced. Like... Kraven the Hunter, Miguel O'Hara, Silk or Black Cat.

  • First Godzilla vs. Kong trailer released
THE BIGGEST MOVIE SINCE AVENGERS: ENDGAME!! Hopefully, a trailer will be released at SDCC@Home. After 5 release date changes, Godzilla vs. Kong will be released on May 21, 2021 and the wait will be worth it.

  • New details on Mission:Impossible 7
After the massive success of Fallout, A seventh installment was obviously announced. I'm wondering how this sequel will top the amazing spectacle that was Mission:Impossible Fallout. Esai Morales will be the main antagonist while Henry Czerny will reprise his role from the very first movie. The movie will take place in Venice and no plot details have been announced yet. Hopefully at SDCC@Home, Christopher McQuarrie will reveal the movie's plot, title and its new characters.

  • New Details on HBO's The Last of Us
When it was announced that HBO will be adapting Naughty Dog's masterpiece, The Last of Us. I couldn't help but feel excited. Not only is The Last of Us one of the Greatest Video Games of All Time, it's also a very emotional and compelling story. With Craig Mazin(who created the equally amazing masterpiece, Chernobyl), Neil Druckmann, the game's creative director and Johan Rhenck directing the pilot(who also directed Chernobyl) this will be a resipe for success! It's the perfect time for both Craig and Neil to announce the show's story. Whether it'll take place before the outbreak or repeat Joel & Ellie's story. SDCC@Home can also reveal who will play Joel & Ellie.

  • Stranger Things: Season 4 details and release date
Hopper is alive! I repeat, Hopper is alive!
SDCC@Home needs to reveal when Stranger Things will come back! Hopefully by the end of the year or next year. The Duffer Brothers and cast might reveal themselves and share when it'll come back or what Season 4 will be about. It'll most likely take place during the Reagan-era which might shine light on the AIDS crisis and references to David Lynch's Blue Velvet. It can also reveal new veteran actors joining the series like maybe I don't know... Kyle McLaughlin perhaps?? Or maybe Isabella Rossellini or Laura Dern.

  • New MCU Phase 4 details
While I do need to wait a little bit longer for Black Widow to be released, there are still more movies and tv shows that I'm looking forward to like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2, The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Ant-Man 3, What If...?, Spider-Man 3, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, Thor 4, Hawkeye and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While a new X-Men movie in the MCU will unlikely be announced, more movies and tv shows might be reveal at the virtual convention, Ironheart, Young Avengers, a Korg & Meik tv show and a Grandmaster tv show. This will mainly be the only thing I'll look forward to when I'm watching the virtual conevntion!! I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than anything in the world! Kevin Feige, you better not disappoint me.

Alright, guys. Thanks for reading. Don't forget to comment below.
