Best Joey King Performances

Best Joey King Performances

Hey, Everybody! Happy Friday. I'm Santiago Brion and today I did a list of Joey King's best performances. At only 20 years old, Joey King has already proven herself to be a great actress and she already has a bright future ahead of her and I'm really looking forward to what she'll do next. Has appeared in an action thriller, a fantasy movie, two major TV shows, rom-coms, family films and a horror movie. Now that the sequel to The Kissing Booth is finally here, here's the list of all the characters that Joey has played in the last few years.

9. Frankie Kane/Magenta- The Flash

While only appearing in one episode of this beloved CW show, she was the adversary for Team Flash, in the Season 3 episode, Magenta, Frankie Kane develops magnetic powers that manifest into an alternate personality after suffering the abuse of her foster dad. Who got her powers from Alchemy(the villain of the first few episodes of Season 3, until Savatar unnecessarily took over). When Barry talks down to Frankie to not kill her foster dad, she gave a gut wrenching performance. It's the first time that Joey has played a sympathetic villain and I really hope that there will be more characters like her that she could play.

8. China Girl- Oz the Great and Powerful

In this prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Joey voiced a tiny china doll who helps Oz on his personal journey to become the wizard. This was Joey's first supporting role not counting her role as Talia al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises. Her name simply known as China Girl, she helped Oz become The Wizard and helped remain on his side until the end.

7. Emily Cale-  White House Down

This was Joey King's first ever appearance in an action thriller, a movie that was admittedly too similar to Olympus Has Fallen. Joey plays Emily Cale, the daughter of Channing Tatum's character, John Cale, a police officer working for the US Capitol. When the White House is under attack, Emily gets captured by the terrorists and John and the President must save her. While the film did have problems, Joey King's performance as a little girl who's desperately in need of help will make you feel anxious and nervous all at once.

6. Ramona Quimby- Ramona and Beezus

Joey King's first ever film role, Ramona was that every little girl who had loads of imagination. Starring alongside Selena Gomez and based on the book series from Beverly Cleary, it's about two sisters who must save their home with the help of Ramona's imagination. If you want to see a star like Joey King being born, then this one is it.

5. Jamie Winkle- Summer '03

Right off the heels of the success of The Kissing Booth, Joey starred in an indie comedy-drama called Summer '03. 16-year-old Jamie sets out to make the most of her summer exploring her sexuality. While the humor was out of place, you'll definitely route for Joey's character, Jamie whose joy of sex and identity are tested.

4. Christine Perron- The Conjuring

In Joey King's first appearance in a horror movie, she played Christine a daughter of the Perron family who stay in a haunted house. While that does sound like the same plot in every Haunted House movie, the focus is on Ed and Lorraine Warren, two Paranormal investigators who solve the paranormal occurrences. One of the daughters, Christine was one of the many standouts in this modern horror classic. When she sees the witch haunting their home, she becomes really convincingly scared that it's almost she saw her herself.

3. Greta Grimly- Fargo

In the TV show based on The Coen Brothers classic film, Joey played Colin Hanks characters' daughter. Another supporting role and her first ever appearance in a major TV show, one that's criminally underrated I might add. If you want to see Joey King in a crime thriller, then this one's for you.

2. Elle Evans- The Kissing Booth

Over the years, Joey has appeared in many supporting roles and her first starring role in this hit Netflix movie further elevated her stardom. Starring alongside Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney, Joey plays Elle Evans a high school student who have been best friends with Lee(Joel Courtney) since they were infants and Elle becomes infatuated with Lee's brother, Noah putting their friendship in jeopardy. With this movie being the best worst Rom-Com ever made it's hard not to enjoy it. Elle will make you laugh that you'll want more and now that the sequel is finally here, I can't wait to see more of Elle and Noah's relationship.

1. Gypsy Blanchard- The Act

This is Joey King at her best! In her first ever mature TV role, Joey plays Gypsy Blanchard, a woman with Munchausen by Proxy, who is pulling away from her toxic relationship with her overprotective mother. How does she do that? Let's just say that it involves talking to a guy she met online and kill her own mother. And this was based on a true story that was published on BuzzFeed in 2016. She even shaved her head for the part and the result earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination.
