Review: The Kissing Booth 2

Hello, Everybody! I'm Santiago Brion and this is my review of The Kissing Booth sequel! The Rom-Com train at Netflix is still running and it is going strong and this worthy follow-up is a strong example of that.

Joey King, Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney have returned to play their respective characters and it's like they never left us. The same infectious humor and everything that makes a movie a guilty pleasure. The Kissing Booth is widely considered to the best worst Rom-Com ever made and its sequel, The Kissing Booth 2 has what its predecessor had. Unintentional humor.

Elle Evans and Lee Flynn have reached their senior year while Noah's at Harvard. Elle and Lee apply to UC Berkeley while Elle applies to different schools in Boston without telling Lee. When Elle seizes the opportunity to get into a Dance Dance competition to win 50,000.00 to get in, she asks her fellow classmate Marco to become her partner, naturally.... well, you know the rest. Things get complicated. We've all seen this cliche before in romantic movies and that is... misunderstandings! This plays a huge part in this movie. Elle kept thinking that Noah was cheating on her until it was all a misunderstanding. It's a rollercoaster of emotions in an otherwise deeply flawed teen rom-com.

While Kissing Booth 2 was long and it did have many issues, it's an otherwise great watch and a handful of moments like when Elle accidentally turned on the intercom, Lee faking his ankle injury, Rachel's public outburst(I couldn't help but laugh), Elle and Marco's dance performance, the awkward Thanksgiving dinner, that same-sex kiss and the blooper well during the end credits(saved the best for last)!

Romantic comedies are my least favorite genre, but they are at least watchable for the actors' chemistry. If you're looking for love don't do anything you see in a Rom-com because that would be inappropriate. Just get tips online not from movies.

I'll give this one a 6/10

Again, I thought it was great, it was just soo long. I would've liked it better if it was shorter. This is still a great sequel tho.
