Review: The Old Guard

Hello, Everybody! I'm Santiago Brion and this is my review of this latest Netflix original film, The Old Guard. 

This is by far, the best action movie of this year! While we are unfortunate to have Summer Blockbusters like Mulan, Black Widow, Minions: The Rise of Gru and F9 not coming to theaters at this time, there is this new action flick that will appease and fill your hole with popcorn movie magic(while you're sitting on your bed).

Based on the comic book series of the same name by Greg Rucka, a group of immortals with the ability to heal themselves, discover that someone knows their secret and must fight for their freedom. 

Charlize Theron is a bad-ass! I loved her as Andy. She's one of Charlize's best characters alongside Furiosa and Cipher. I really loved Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli as Joe & Nicky who gave the biggest declaration of love for each other! I loved Kiki Layne as Nile, a newcomer who's recruited in Andy's group. She's already a talented actress and I can't wait to see what she does next. Who would've thought that Dudley Dursley would be the main antagonist?

Gina Prince-Bythewood was a great choice to direct, due to the fact that she's helming two Sony-owned Marvel movies and the action sequences were very inventive and so impressive. 

While you can wait for the anticipated release of F9 and Cipher's return, check out The Old Guard. It's F**KING amazing!!

I'll give this a 10/10.
