Recap on the MCU.

Hello, my fellow Marvel fans! Today I'm doing a quick recap on Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get you guys prepared for Phase 4. Since that WandaVision's coming out tomorrow, I'd like to talk about the important details on Wanda and Vision. I'll also be talking about other plot details in the Infinity Saga. So, for those who haven't been caught up yet. This is Spoiler territory. So please don't read this post if you haven't watched any of these movies yet. 

Several billion year ago, 6 infinity stones were born during the Big Bang and were MacGuffins until they ultimately weren't. Tony Stark is a billionaire inventor and philanthropist who makes weapons for money and when gets captured by terrorists, he builds an iron suit to escape and ultimately makes a suit for his own pleasure. There's also Thor, an Asgardian demigod whose father, Odin, knows more about these stones and hid one on Earth where a Nazi scientist, Red Skull, the first leader of Hydra is consumed by the Space Stone, also known as the Tesseract, which was also used by Mar-Vell, an alien scientist who used the Space stone to create an engine and is killed by one of her kind and the stone's energy flowed threw Carol Danvers' body thus becoming Captain Marvel and a little girl named Monica Rambeau picked all of the colors of her costume. Back to Odin, he was a piece-of-shit father to Loki, which drove Loki into villainy, thus attempting to steal the Asgardian throne but Thor ultimately stops him with the help of some scientists including Darcy Lewis. Turns out Loki works for a powerful evil being known as Thanos, an ecoterrorist who plans to use the stones with a gauntlet to wipe out half the universe. Phase 1 ends with Thor, Tony, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Hulk fighting Loki's army in New York City in The Avengers and hands the mind stone to SHIELD, but wait! Turns out SHIELD was later revealed to be HYDRA! 

Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ends with the Avengers fighting Ultron on Sokovia(which was blown to hell), a fictional city somewhere in Eastern Germany and the birthplace of both Wanda and Pietro Maxim-off aka Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Well, technically the final film of Phase 2 was Ant-Man but that was an epilogue film. Anyway, both Wanda and Pietro's powers came from the Mind stone, one of six infinity stones that Loki possessed for his invasion on New York City in The Avengers(2012). How you ask? Well a certain Hydra leader experimented on them and were released and even helped Ultron, an evil A.I. created by Tony Stark, fight Earth's Mightest Heroes and because they blame Tony for the deaths of their parents. When the twins learn more about Ultron's plan however, they sided with the heroic team to stop him. During the fight on Sokovia, Clint Barton/Hawkeye gives Wanda a little pep talk before she goes into full-on bad-ass mode and becomes a full-fledged avenger and Pietro sacrifices his life to protect Clint which further adds to Wanda's trauma. Now, before I get to Wanda and Vision's relationship, I'm going to talk about JARVIS(Just A Rather Very Intelligent System), Tony's Computer Interface and assistant. Edwin Jarvis was Tony's father, Howard Stark's butler and Tony designed an interface program and over the years, he eventually upgraded the U.I. into an A.I., tasked with with running businesses for Stark Industries as well as security for Tony's condo in Malibu(which was unnecessarily destroyed in Iron Man 3) and Stark Tower which was later upgraded to Avengers Tower. After creating his Mark II suit, Tony uploaded JARVIS to all of his iron suits as well as providing aid in Avengers combat. During Age of Ultron when Tony creates Ultron, JARVIS is killed in their line of defense when the hostile AI awakens. However, JARVIS' remains were uploaded into a synthetic body made of vibranium and the mind stone, an entirely new being was made: Vision. Both Wanda and Vision later became a couple due to their bond and connection to their infinity stone in Captain America: Civil War, the first movie of Phase 3. 

In Civil War, Tony and Captain America are at odds after the Sokovia Accords are put into effect, meaning that when signed, heroes are forced to work for the government. Now, this also because Wanda lost control and blew up a building of innocent people in Lagos, South Africa, which also adds to her trauma. Tony, feeling guilty for what happened in Sokovia signs while Cap doesn't sign which leads to the Avengers' breakup. During those events, Wanda is being kept in the Avengers compound and Vision prevents her from leaving and forced to fight one for being on opposite sides. When Wanda gets injured, they reconcile, but he loses control and accidentally injures Rhodey, Tony's best friend. Cap and Bucky get away after the airport fight and the fight in Siberia. One of the heroes from the airport, Scott Lang/Ant-Man is on house arrest and outsmarts FBI agent, Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Cap and the other heroes including Wanda escapes, but she and Vision sneak off in secret to Edinburgh in Avengers: Infinity War. Vision wears the mind stone on his head while Wanda uses her powers to sense all of the remaining infinity stones and displays the powers of all of the infinity stones in a single time. For example, her powers are like the Aether, a stone from Thor: The Dark World, destroys objects like the Power stone, a stone that was stolen from Xandar and was used by Ronan, the main antagonist from Guardians of the Galaxy, alters people's minds, showed Thor the future and she can even sense Vision in the afterlife. Ok, now I'm going to talk about Wanda's most emotional low point, Vision's death. Thanos sends his assassins to Earth to retrieve the stones, which means that they would have to kill Vision to get the infinity stone, so Vision offers a solution to destroy the Mind stone, which is too high a price. When Thanos arrives in Wakanda during the battle, Wanda is forced to destroy the stone and him before Thanos can reach them, but Thanos ultimately uses the Time stone to bring Vision just to kill him right in front of Wanda to get the stone, anyway. Then... we all know what happened, Thanos snaps his fingers and half of all life was turned into ash. 

5 years later...

The Avengers, Rocket and Ant-Man successfully bring back everybody via time travel and Wanda went Beast mode on Thanos. Now for the record, Thanos would've ultimately died from Wanda's powers making her the strongest Avenger. Tony sacrificed his life to stop Thanos once and for all and The Avengers are retired. During Tony's funeral, Wanda can still feel Vision's presence even after death.
