Review: No Time to Die

Hello! Today I just saw the new and last movie of the Daniel Craig James Bond era, No Time to Die. In this movie, Bond is now face to face with greatest enemy yet, as he's now retired and working with the CIA and has to find a kidnapped scientist which turns dangerous, and is lead to a mysterious villain with dangerous technology.

No Time to Die stars Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashanna Lynch, Ana de Armas, Naomie Harris, Billy Magnussen, Jeffrey Wright and Ralph Fiennes. It's written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and directed by Cary Joji Fukanaga, same guy who did True Detective: Season 1, Beasts of No Nation and the Netflix miniseries, Maniac.

Let's get this out of the way, I never thought that this was going to come out and I thought that I wasn't going to see it anyway, and I'm glad that I did. This was even the first movie was affected by CO-VID.

Right off the bat, this was a very fun and thrilling spy-venture with an amazing opening sequence, which starts with a flashback to Madeleine Swann as a kid being hunted by an unidentified man who kills her mom, and then it leads to an awesome car chase and there's also a scene where James jumps off a bridge with a rope. Bond movies are known for their memorable openings, and I think this one is one of its best. I'm a big James Bond fan, and I honestly don't imagine the Craig era already coming to end. This was honestly a great run and I do hope the next Bond can live up to his legacy.

Also, I'm a BIG Billie fan, and her titular song is very good.

I also like how these 5 movies kind of link together in terms of plot. I also think Ana de Armas was soo awesome in this movie even though she only had 10 min. of screen time. Look, I don't get the backlash with the new 007, who is played by Lashanna Lynch, who was Maria Rambeau in the MCU. Guys, 007 can be a woman and they can also be black! People can be mad about stupid shit, I don't get it.

After the unfortunate misfire that was Spectre (not that I'm saying that SPECTRE was bad, it just wasn't as great as Skyfall), this was a much-needed and satisfying conclusion to James Bond's story. This is also where Mr. Bond is at his most emotional and mental point, I thought Craig gave it his all. It's a known fact that he has injured himself over the course of these movies. For example, he injured his knees while fighting Dave Bautista in Spectre, two of his teeth knocked out in Casino Royale and injured his arm.

There are so many action sequences that I loved like the one-take sequence of Bond going up a stairwell and taking down bad guys and the shootout in the misty forest.

As for Rami Malek as the villain, Safin, I thought he delivered another great performance as always, but I wouldn't say that he's a great villain, his plan was pretty weak to begin with. It was the generic plot as most Bond villains and in most blockbuster movies.

If you like James Bond and spy fiction, it's great watch and a satisfying one and I enjoyed it so much. I cried at the end, I really did. I obviously won't give it away. Daniel Craig is in fact, the best James Bond that we've ever gotten. This era was fantastic with minor bumps in the road, I mean every era of 007 had few bad movies, with A View to a Kill being one of its worst ones.

Thank you, Daniel Craig, for being James Bond.

I'll give No Time to Die a 9/10
